One Other Hiccup...

Sometimes hiccups aren't easily stopped, so let's add one more. We have realized more and more over the last week that Jairo suffers from what seems to be a common ailment among kids--partial deafness (the technical term being "selectivehearingitis"). It's the craziest thing...he can hear everyone else perfectly fine, but for whatever reason, he has a very difficult time hearing us, especially when we ask him not to doing something. Maybe chalk it up to bad acoustics in Ecuador, but the word "no" doesn't seem to make it from our mouths into his ears. Someone should really develop a vaccine for this disease...I'd do it myself, but I'm too busy developing my other $1 billion idea of domesticating squirrels.
